There's oil in them there hills! Incorporated in 1856, Dallas, Texas has always been home to oil tycoons and large industrial leaders. It's the third-largest city in Texas; the ninth-largest city in the United States. Like everything else in Texas, it's also big from a land size perspective. It covers almost 400 square miles. The climate of Dallas can be best described in one word: hot. Air conditioning is mandatory here. Of course, in the winter, it's famous for its ice storms. The city is also well known for its computer technology, banking, and transportation industry. It's amazing that it has achieved such status as a world city because it is landlocked and has no physical access to a waterway.
