San Francisco is the fourteenth most populous city in the United States, with roughly 800K residents thrust in a 7 by 7 square mile region. Most of San Francisco back then and even today was built out of wood which did a pretty good job of surviving the trembler. Experts agree another big one is due in the next 30 years. The city by the bay is a popular international tourist center, famous for its summer fog, ridiculously steep hills, and Victorian buildings.
