Aside from being loving and friendly, Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania; most people don't realize that it's quite a big city: it ranks 6th in population size in the US. About 1.5M people live there. The Philly metro area is the fifth-largest in the country with a population of approximately 6M. Of course, in the 1800's it was THE city. It was the first capital and most populated city in the United States. It was the second largest city in the world, behind London.
