Since 1984, Dana has worked in the field of finance and investments for several Fortune 500 companies, Wall Street investment firms, and has held various management positions. Before entering law school, Dana held the position of Director of Finance for a division of a large NYSE listed company, headquartered in Miami.

Dana's interest in bankruptcy began when he was appointed to the Board of Directors of a NASDAQ listed company that had just been reorganized in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding in 2000. The company encountered a series of unforeseeable financial setbacks, which was worsened by the negative actions of uncooperative lenders, which ultimately resulted in the liquidation of the company in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding in 2003.
