Want to see a perfect example of green, clean living in a thoroughly modern city? Then Portland is for you! It's located near the nexus of the Willamette and Columbia rivers and has a population of roughly 600K residents. It's Oregon's most populous city. Roughly two million people live in Portland larger metro area. The city was founded in the middle of the last century primarily as a mining and timber town but now it's much more than that.
